II. CÂU HỎI & SAMPLE ANSWERS TOPIC ROUTINE
1. Chủ đề Daily routine - IELTS Speaking Part 1
- What is your daily routine?
Answer 1: Well, in the morning, I get up early to have a light breakfast and hit the gym at about 8 a.m. After one hour of workout, I leave the gym club and go to the supermarket to buy food to prepare lunch and dinner. In the afternoon and evening, I go to my workplace and start working from 14.00.pm until 21.00.p.m.
Answer 2: My daily activities depend on my work schedule, so nothing is fixed. The only routine I never skip is writing in a diary, which gives me time to reflect on my day. I’m an early riser so I wake up at around 6 o’clock, then I have a cup of coffee 30 minutes after that before I go to the gym. I stay at home for pretty much the whole afternoon and I teach English classes in the evening.
Answer 3: My daily routine is quite repetitive. I always start the day with having my breakfast, watching some youtube videos and then getting ready for work. After a whole day at work I'd go back home to my wife cooking dinner and then chilling out for a bit before bed time.
- Have you ever changed your routine?
Answer 1: Yes, it underwent a change about a month ago. I had a very tight schedule and was struggling to manage my targets. So I had to work late until 2:00 AM.
Answer 2: Yes, I have. I used to work and study at night as I found it easier to concentrate, the silence at night assists me in focusing on my work. However, since I had office work in the morning. I’ve learnt to get used to working and studying during the day. For the first time, I had difficulties concentrating on working. But now, It’s not what I’m comfortable doing, but it’s not too bad to keep up with it.
Answer 3: Oh, for sure. I easily get bored and lose motivation if I feel like things are getting too dull. That's why I always try to make life more exciting by changing things up once in a while. One example is to ask for a day off work to go on a holiday with my family!
- What part of your day do you like best?
Answer 1: My favourite time of the day would be 7 p.m., which is when I come back from work and gather around the dinner table with my family. Seeing them after a long hard-working day can help me feel recharged, so I look forward to this time of the day the most.
Answer 2: I enjoy late night when I come home from work, and everything is filled with dim grey light. To me, it’s a great time to kick back on the bed to have a chit-chat with my roommates, surf the Internet, listen to music, or watch a favourite movie.
Answer 3: As a morning riser, I’m particularly keen on morning time. I really love the feeling of enjoying a cup of coffee beside the small window, which is an ideal way to start a day. To me, there are so many other benefits of waking up early in the morning, from better performance in school to being more able to stick to a diet plan.
- Do you usually have the same routine everyday?
Answer 1: Mostly yes. I’m an early bird though I go to bed late. On weekdays, my work starts at 9:00 AM and I wind up by 5:00 PM. On weekends, I go shopping and sleep a little early. I follow this schedule every week and there aren’t any major changes unless we have celebrations.
Answer 2: No. As I mentioned above, I don’t have a fixed schedule. I keep an open mind and always strive to upgrade my life from the tiniest things. There is a significant difference. Instead of getting up at dawn, I spend my Sunday on my warm bed. Besides, I try new interests like eating out, reading a book or learning a new sport. New hobby gives me inspiration to work and study more productively.
Answer 3: Well it depends on whether or not it is a weekday or a weekend. I pretty much follow the same routine on weekdays as my work schedule is the same. However, on weekends I tend to do different things to spice my life up a little bit.
- What is the busiest part of the day for you?
Answer 1: The evening is not only the part of the day I like but also the busiest part for me. I’m up to my neck in finishing all deadlines before the new day starts. I concentrate on working well because no motivation is as good as the urge to sleep.
Answer 2: I am a procrastinator, so I tend to get extremely busy at night, when all my work piles up. I love working at those hours though, because no motivation is as good as the urge to sleep.
- Do you think it is important to have a daily routine?
Answer: Yes, it is. A proper daily routine will help you arrange your activities in the most sensible way. Without a daily routine, people usually do things spontaneously, which could waste their time and reduce their work efficiency. I think those who are disorganized can gain more benefits from creating a daily routine.
- What’s the difference of routine between you and your teenager’s times?
Answer: Well, I can say that there’s a vast difference between my life then and my present life. You know, when I was a teenager, besides focusing on study, I had much free time to pursue my interests like watching films or listening to music. In contrast, my routine and time management has become stricter now. Since I graduated from university and began working as an English teacher, I’m so occupied with my work that I have little leisure time.
- Do you like to plan what you will do each day?
Answer: Yes, I would like to. Planning keeps the day in your control. The more organized you are, the better your life becomes. I’m pretty orderly at work and I want to be the same way in my other activities as well.
2. Chủ đề Study routine - IELTS Speaking Part 1
- What is your daily study routine?
Answer: I’m not the type of person who crams for the exam right the night before so I divide the work into small sections and get them done each day. Therefore I won’t be under the pressure of studying. For example, I’ll usually focus on what I study for 25 minutes straight, then take a five-minute break and then get back to studying. This is a technique called Pomodoro to help you concentrate and study more effectively.
- Do you think it is important to have a daily routine for your study?
Answer 1: Definitely yes. Having a fixed daily routine for study is a crucial part of academic life and even for our future life. As a matter of fact, learning how to manage time is a very important skill for all of us, especially for some students.
Answer 2: Yes. I absolutely have a daily routine to study. I do think having a fixed schedule for what you study is necessary. A daily study routine gives you a big picture of your studying progress and motivation to study harder. Not only do you prioritize what to do first but you also meet deadlines. Without a routine, people tend to work spontaneously and this may lead to reducing study efficiency.
- How do you organize your time of study?
Answer 1: To avoid putting pressure on myself, I tend to learn little by little every day. Moreover, I have a plan which is the most important so I can know what I should do first. When I have a great deal of energy, I immediately sit at the desk to push up study efficiency.
Answer 2: I’m pursuing a course in Management along with my work. I usually study on the weekends because I want an entire day to myself. I don’t study on weekdays as it becomes stressful.
