Từ lâu, các ca khúc của Linkin Park đã tập trung thể hiện những khía cạnh tâm lý ẩn sau, góc tối trong mỗi cá nhân và đặc biệt là những cảm xúc mạnh mẽ của những người phải chịu đựng rất nhiều trong cuộc sống. Ca từ của Linkin Park và cả giọng hát của Chester Benning, ca sĩ chính của band, có một chất tự sự chân thật đến mức gai góc. Lắng nghe Linkin Park thực sự là hành trình khám phá một thế giới tâm lý phức tạp, khốc liệt nhưng khó nhìn thấy, tìm ra lời giải thích cho những rắc rối của riêng mình, và điều đó đặc biệt đúng với người trẻ.
